Steve Malliet began the Normal CornBelters in 2009 after spending the previous 4 seasons with the River City Rascals as their President. Prior to his time in River City, Steve served as the Executive Vice President and General Manager for the Joliet Jackhammers in the Northern League. He started his career as a Corporate Sales Manager for the Milwaukee Brewers for two seasons before moving on to start up the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Organization (Atlanta Braves Affiliate). He received his first General Manager position with the Wisconsin TimberRattlers in 1994 and helped the organization move into a new stadium in 1995. He was named Executive of the Year in the Midwest League in 1995 and the TimberRattlers went on to win the Bob Freitas Award in 1996 as the Most Outstanding Franchise in Minor League Baseball in their class.
Michael is in his third season in the Cornbelters front office as the Assistant General Manager by way of Charleston, SC. Originally from Ridgefield, Connecticut Michael or “Petrini” earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management from Endicott College of Beverly, Massachusetts. He began his career in baseball as an intern with the Charleston RiverDogs, Single “A” affiliate of the New York Yankees. Upon finishing school he joined the RiverDogs front office as a Sales Manager focusing on group and season ticket sales while maintaining and generating the Grassroots marketing campaign as well as overseeing the Kidz Zone on game nights. After four seasons Michael left the RiverDogs for The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina where he earned an MS in Sports Management. Michael resides in Bloomington with his wife Erin, dog & cat. Michael and Erin are avid sports fans and enjoy rooting for the Clemson Tigers, New York Yankees and New York Giants. Deana is heading into her second season in the CornBelters front office as the Business Manager. She is joining the team with over a decade of management and bookkeeping experience. Deana was born and raised in the Bloomington/Normal area. Her hobbies include reading, boating and spending time with her friends and family.
Scott is very excited about his second year working with the Normal CornBelters. He has been working in the food and beverage industry for almost 30 years with companies such as Red Robin and Illinois River Winery. He owned his own restaurant in Utah. Scott was born just up the road in Aurora and shortly after moved to Pennsylvania. He was an air traffic controller in the Air Force and then went on to work in the FAA. Spending some time in New York, Scott became a Yankees fan and a Jets fan. He was a Yankees season ticket holder for over a decade. Derek Jeter is his hero. He is no stranger to working with great sports teams. While in college at the University of Utah, he was on the defensive staff for the illustrious football team. In 2009 they beat Alabama in the Sugar bowl. Go Utes!!! Scott lives with his girlfriend Jaimie and their puppies Tank and Murphy.
Elana has finished her first season with the CornBelters as our Community Relations Director. Elana graduated summer of 2016 from the University of North Alabama with a degree in Mass Communication Public Relations while finishing her degree as an intern for the 2016 CornBelters season. She is a former collegiate athlete who played volleyball at Kankakee Community College and The University of North Alabama. Sports have been a lifestyle since youth and she enjoys watching Chicago sports, especially The Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bulls. Her hobbies consist of dancing, trying new foods and adventurous outdoor activities.
Jacob has finished his first season with the CornBelters as our Box Office Manager. He is currently attending Illinois State University and majoring in Recreation Management. Jacob is from Germantown Hills, Illinois; about 15 minutes outside of Peoria. He has been involved in sports all his life and loves to watch, as well as play them. Jacob's favorite teams include the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Rams, and the University of Kansas Jayhawks!

Corny is the official mascot of the Normal CornBelters. He was born on August 7th of 2009 at 10:00 AM right here in Normal. Corny will be at every CornBelters game this summer getting the fans pumped up and rooting the CornBelters to victory! He also makes appearances throughout Central Illinois at schools, libraries, malls and many other locations.
